Hi Stefan
which again confirms that this path is less (not?) affected by solar activity. Same as on the path to VK..

I wouldnt quite say that :-)) the Dst was rising rapidly and was nearer -30nT over that period. The YV route my be a little as 3 hops with a couple of "salt water bounces", as Markus says you nearly made in the previous night at a Dst of probably around or slightly above -60nT. By comparison the VK route is probably at least 5 hops so you are looking at 25dB more.....certainly need a little wind behind you :-)) but there may be more opportunities than just at the equinox, though the darkness period is most advantageous then.

Unfortunately Dst doesnt predict a good result, rather the better probability a result. There are a confusingly wide range of results even on a high Dst night.

Well done on these tests! It certainly is good to see marginal conditions probed, and a few "urban myths" tested :-)) The deep search has certainly enabled us to peep under the normal noise barrier and see what is actually possible in these paths. If you dont see anything you dont know whether the signal it is a couple of dB below detection or -100dB in other modes.

Martin, LF,

Most amazing. There were even 7 decodes last night!!!

YV7MAE FK81BD Opera-32 correlation http://df6nm.bplaced.net/opera/opds.zip

date time call distance frequency bandwidth snr correlation

2013-12-09 05:58:12 DK7FC 7812km 137572.816Hz 4mHz -45.0dBOp 100% 18.8dB 2013-12-09 05:23:10 DK7FC 7812km 137572.811Hz 3mHz -41.6dBOp 100% 21.2dB 2013-12-09 04:48:09 DK7FC 7812km 137572.810Hz 3mHz -45.5dBOp 100% 18.7dB 2013-12-09 04:13:09 DK7FC 7812km 137572.808Hz 2mHz -49.2dBOp 87% 17.5dB 2013-12-09 03:03:07 DK7FC 7812km 137572.807Hz 3mHz -49.0dBOp 100% 17.7dB 2013-12-09 01:53:05 DK7FC 7812km 137572.805Hz 9mHz -48.3dBOp 100% 15.6dB 2013-12-09 00:22:45 DK7FC 7812km 137572.800Hz 8mHz -45.7dBOp 100% 17.0dB

This is the first night and all night before produced not even a single decode. DST levels were arround -40 nT (http://lasp.colorado.edu/space_weather/dsttemerin/dsttemerin.html) which again confirms that this path is less (not?) affected by solar activity. Same as on the path to VK..

Thanks for the receive site in Venezuela!

LF!

Just a few minutes ago i saw the first decode of DK7FC on Martin's YV7MAE LF
OPDS monitor in FK81BD:
http://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/74746618/LF/YV7MAE_LF_Grabber_OPDS.html

I've manually updated the page each few minutes and hoped for a decode and
now here it is :-)

Hope i can do it a few times more this night :-)

This is the path:
