The RTTY test(s) gave me inspiration. So I programmed some (quick and dirty < 1hr
programming) RTTY subroutines for my PIC2520+AD9850 472TX, just to see if I
could get some results.
Then downloaded fldigi and decoded my signals through
WebSDR Twente.
I must say fldigi works quite good. I can barely hear my own
transmission through Twente but fldigi decodes just fine. See attached
screenshots from websdr and fldigi.
Years ago I also experimented with RTTY,
using an apple II (software written in 6502 assembly) and a hardware decoder.
But I remember that for a good decode the RTTY signal had to be quite
good/loud. This websdr signal would
not have had even a remote chance of being decoded. So there is
hope….

Eddie,
Yes the interference is
dreadful.
I did try after the severe stuff had
gone.
RTTY will need to be a great deal stronger than
WSPR for a decode.
Well that is a broad
statement.
WSPR is often good clean steady and visible which may well produce
results, I have seen my WSPR good clean and steady on your Grabber.
I
measured G6AVK's steady signal the other day, he was -11dB reported on WSPR,
that signal was +20dB / Averaged Noise in a 2.5KHz bandwidth on SpecLab. One
sounds unlikely for QSO modes, the other possible, like 100% copy on CMSK8 which
we did. We shall have to try RTTY on that one.

Yes not a lot of hope of much getting through that
mess.
I do see my WSPR on your Grabber and you were reporting -9dB
yesterday.
Same QRP here as on WSPR, 10W of RF 5mW ERP from my small
Marconi.

Hi Eddie,
Sorry nothing seen from you, what are your Tx
conditions ??
I do get a lot of intermittent RF type
interference & is there at the moment.....see my grabber at
