I assume now after 40 years , the latter
being 5 > 10KW , then the isolators must be
starting to craze , the mast is a galvanised steel
triangular mast with a 40 ft or more top
spike , guide with steel + insulators wires , so the
mast must now be starting to corrode
as Wallasey is open the to the sea .... may be
the bean counters for once , will
serve a useful purpose , the site must
consume round 10/ 20KW of power , 24/7 - 365
days a year , that must be a big cost
overhead , coupled with a re-furb on the mast
You can see the houses just at the end
of the guy-wires ........ and all those
bolted sections and junk to chatter

especially when the wx is damp or raining

People worry about mobile phone masts and we had
to jump through loops over V/MTR for the
500 licence , this is at the end of a residential
street , with tails of talking toasters ,
zig-zag Tv and music louder than the person calling on
then phone

Scanning the CW band 472-7kHz a strong, I mean very strong signal was
heard from DK0SWF on 472,5.
He was listening mostly on 80m.
At 1930 he was QRT signing of after a short QSX 503.
Didn't manage to work him :-(

Looking to the sat picture a "large" antenna was showed, which explained
the strong sigs.
