I assume now  after  40  years , the  latter  being  5 > 10KW  , then  the  isolators must be  starting to  craze , the  mast is a  galvanised steel  triangular  mast  with a  40 ft or  more  top  spike , guide with  steel + insulators  wires , so the  mast  must  now  be starting  to  corrode  as  Wallasey is  open the  to the  sea ....  may be the  bean  counters  for  once  , will  serve  a  useful  purpose , the  site  must  consume  round  10/ 20KW  of  power  , 24/7 - 365 days  a  year  , that  must be a big  cost  overhead , coupled with a  re-furb on the  mast

You can  see  the  houses  just  at the  end of the  guy-wires  ........ and  all  those  bolted  sections  and  junk  to  chatter

When it is de- commissioned for the residents sake and the rest of us I hope Radio Amateurs do not take it over  and turn it into a QRM generator !!

Lets  hope   BBC Radio  Merseyside  follows the  same  way  and  ends  40  years  of misery for  those living   next  door  to the  MW tx   1485  , its playing a  tape asking  listeners  to  tune   FM/DAB  , it now relays   2 or 3  feeds and  produces a  Christmas  tree of IMP  and  wideband  noise , especially   when the wx  is  damp  or  raining .

People  worry about  mobile phone  masts  and we had to  jump  through  loops over  V/MTR  for the  500 licence , this  is at the  end  of a  residential street  , with  tails  of  talking toasters  , zig-zag Tv  and  music louder than the  person calling  on then phone

Very strong signal here, beautifull MF activation.
Why do they use a broadcast antenna ? The end of SWF ?

Sujet : LF: DK0SWF antenna

Scanning the CW band 472-7kHz a strong, I mean very strong signal was
heard from DK0SWF on 472,5.
He was listening mostly on 80m.
At 1930 he was QRT signing of after a short QSX 503.
Didn't manage to work him :-(

Checked internet and his location was here :
http://no.nonsense.ee/qthmap/?qth=JN49AV60ER
Looking to the sat picture a "large" antenna was showed, which explained
the strong sigs.

If you are reading this reflector, do you really use this array?
