Stefan
I was able to hear all the German Beacons ALL day long on 505 Khz. and can
work most of Western EU during the daytime on CW
and especially the PA stations
It depends who is listening and the ERP at the TX end

MF,
Here i've made a diagram showing the SNRs as a function of time of those
stations who received me on 477 kHz since this day.
It shows clearly that the groundwave path must be very stable over the
daytime and seems to be limited to less than 500km. There are stations
who are continually monitoring the QRG but as soon as the sunrise comes,
no signals are detected in the UK while the levels are 25 dB above the
decode limit in the night.
So far there were no TA decodes during the last night. I think i will
run the TX for another 24 hours in that mode. I'm looking forward to the
effect of different RX locations when the sun goes down in some hours.
The diagram is here: https://dl.dropbox.com/u/19882028/MF/OP4SNR.png
73 and tnx to the RX stations!
