RE-UPLOAD >>> ROS _MF
upload 7.1.3
There seems to of been a bug in
the mode change , when switching from HF to
MF , in that the HF modem was still engaged
setting 136 and then back to MF
did solve the problem..
This has been addressed , please
re-upload v 7-1-3
All
The ROS MF data modes have been in existence for
some time , however little used , till now
, the transmission format is the same as
the HF modes , with lock-data-stop
sequence
Casual intercept cannot be made , the RX
station 'must' receive the lock sequence ,
to this end , tx/rx must be on the same
qrg at the start of Tx ...... the lock frame s/n
is lower than the data frame , but still its
possible to miss it in qsb . a beacon using
MF-2 needs only de dk7cf , as the baud rate
is slow , decoding de dk7cf , will result
in s/n + fade margin report , web linked
de g0nbd [email protected] would
generate a web linked report and a direct
e-mail to my e-mail address
There are extensive beacon reporting
facilities , where as the system will TX a
report , BRB Beacon Reply Mode , or if the RX
station is set up, on decoding a
e-mail address in the beacon text , will
send via email a direct report (gmail
needed)
Note
ROS HF & MF modes are phase-cont MFSK and
do not require linear TX path
Rx noise over -17 dB must be available
during beacon operations , ie, the RX should
be monitoring the qrg , with no 'noise'
the beacon timer will not count down. also
the beacon will not tx on a qrg
that is in use
Pls ensure that while operating 136/500
that the Symbol Rate switch is displaying
the 7 and 2 options , and the waterfall
shows the 100 Hz
spaced red-lines ....this indicates MF
mode has been selected
MF-modes are 100 Hz wide , where
as HF are 2 KHz
AFC - will not track drift during TX , allows
for miss alignment at the 'start' of
the Tx
for the software to identify a
call and broadcast the decode , 'de'
must preceded the call , ie for mf-2
beacon de dk7cf would register
where as dk7cf would decode ,
but would not be recognised as the
call
'CQ' causes the web beacon to announce
start of TX
