''OP32 is really slow''

Yes but twice as fast as OP64 , for this you can watch a DVD ! and OP4H, can go out for the night hihi

But OP32 has 6 dB more sensitivity , showing down to -40 dB , in say Mikes case , that's from 800 watts to 3200 ! quite a saving , but as the system is one-shot , the dcode is representing the Tx period , interesting the decodes start at -28 / stop at -23 , the signal must rise and fall quickly ?

Pity nothing decoded in the US last night , but signal 's in 1500 /2000 mile range where quite substantial ... from this , it seems that propagation on 136 is really linked to the seasons ? as Gary , was using a small 35 ft top loaded vertical and 300 or so watts , for the first TA decode by Joe, using the original OP8 mode

Was /is the second HOP propagation available , if the signal was round -20dB at 2000 miles range , in winter time would the second hop loose 20 dB reducing to -40dB ?..surely not as Gary's decode's where 10 dB over the lower limit of OP8..... is anyone watching the dfc39 signal ?

One point from previous trials , If Spec-lab is used with Opera , then SL must be set to 48Khz sample rate , or OP can loose low level decode sensitivity.

Monitors ,

Yes many Op stations may not normally use the 136 band , but as you notice , with some warning , then stations will tune in, and the web/linked beacon , shows activity , so stations can switch over , during the tx !

And thanks to Chris for monitoring !

Thanks Chris.

OP32 is really slow, so the entertaining factor is just 1/4. In OP8 it is nice to do something else on the PC and watch the reports each few minutes.

Another effect seems to be that one day is needed until a number of listensing stations appear on the map. Yesterday there was not so much going on (relative) while there were many stations on the band over the weekend and on monday. I expect tonite the activity will be higher again. So i'll give it another try in 32...

Stefan, LF,

OP32 last night report in Haifa:

02:15 136 DK7FC Op32 -23 dB
01:38 136 DK7FC Op32 -23 dB
01:05 136 DK7FC Op32 -26 dB
00:22 136 DK7FC Op32 -24 dB
    *********** 25/07/2012 ***********
23:50 136 DK7FC Op32 -24 dB
23:08 136 DK7FC Op32 -26 dB
22:34 136 DK7FC Op32 -28 dB
    *********** 24/07/2012 ***********

I've temporarily lost control of my Bucharest grabber so no reports from that end this time, should be fixed soon.
Thanks for the test,
