I have been saying this for a long time. Real QSO acty using CW and forget about Beacons. This is why I get so much enjoyment on the HF bands using CW in real time mode. I am on 5 Mhz CW quite a bit these days.
If you are out /P let me know and we can have a CW QSO. I will TX around 502 and let me know your QRG

Hopefully this will change next year.

BTW, this month, the German amateur radio magazine CQDL (http://www.darc.de/cq-dl/) tells about the new MF allocation. I have found it in my post yesterday.I guess there will be plenty of radio amateurs normally operating on HF taking a look into the new band.
So if we want to have an active MF band it may be good to do some activity there, best in CW. Certainly it is much more fascinating for a newcomer to listen to a QSO between amateurs than listening the NDB signals.

The reason that I work QSX ie listen on 7033 is because other countries DO NOT have a permit to transmitt on 500.
also 500 Khz is a minority interest for radio amateurs throughout the world, very few are listening world wide.
