Thanks Jan for running the beacon

Unfortunately there was change of version in the middle and things got a little out of hand ..however , the psk-map linking is nearly complete and the latest version now reports the distance .... that zip will only have the one version ..

Yes I noticed the OZ4KPC , nothing at my qth .. :(

The YV could be version problem .. allsorts of crazy decodes ..

I did see your signal a few times but no decode , 20 watts from this side decoded with you a few times . i was using the MA1723 + skanti amps with the audio tone feed , can use the cw key , but it needs a second com port to hold the station in TX ..or it runs break-in .. which tends to chatter the relays at slow speed .

Yes , its a little odd , but , the idea was a data mode that could uses a simple cw tx , the race to the noise floor , I suppose was not too unexpected , however , Gary proved that a little DSP helps to get the signal across :)

Of course any of the hybrid modulation systems will give s/n enhancement , but this is a fun for all mode and works with any home made cw tx or vintage xtal valve set

Graham,

Well I think it's a matter of conditions.
In the past I could decode your ROS MF transmissions, not on a daily basis, but MF is is very depending sometimes on a certain duct condition.

Nicolas has very sensitive location at least he must have a low noise situation..

Surprisingly I received OZ4KPC rather strong, that strong that a live CW QSO would be no problem.

Just now @ 23:22 YV0OFP 500 Op2 came in with an increadeble +17 dB! (Local pirate call??)

It's a bit frustrating about Opera not knowing what it is actually doing and how it works. Just pushing buttons and looking for results is like a magnetron dinner. Could be tasteful but you don't know why.

I'm using an old KWD TS-440 driving a QTX transmitter in split mode about 25W in a dense urban area.
TX on 2MHz which goes into a divider by 4 resulting 500kHz.
Using the CW keyer. So moving the carrier to an empty slot is not possible. Anyway the software decision will be divided by 4. A ringmixer arrangement should replace this soon. Which makes it more flexible for other modes.

Dutch "OFCOM" were asleep and dictated to use morse only.
A CW id at the end of the transmission will certainly please the Dutch authorties.

Think this eve was usefull showing some bugs and some user wishes.
However I can't determine how usefull and better Opera is in relation to other deep noise programs.

Jan,

Still no decode from you , but see your reaching F4DTL , may be round 2300 I should see you ?

When using audio drive , the software has a scan facility , that places the carrier in a empty slot .. with vfo control , its pot luck , but the separation is very small so it should not be a real problem ..

I think the beacon timer is fixed and tx occurs after the pre-set period

Yes it will decode multiple signals / both speeds at the same time

CW ... well I am decoding PA0A (AA) under the noise for most of the night

Early days yet ..
