So what we need now is someone who says, "I get de-codes of many stations using OPERA but never G3ZJO, here is a screen shot of the Phantom QRS3".

There have been some land marks in the last couple of days Mal, you have seen my signal in 2 Modes.

Great stuff Mal

I don't use the OPERA waterfall always, I use SpecLab in QRS3 settings. Of course if we use Speclab to reduce the bandwidth to observe the QRS3 we are moving the goal posts as in Marcus' example and we must narrow the RX bandwidth to feed the OPERA decoder to compensate.

However my previous tests reveal that with all the armoury available the QRS3 boys do not read the signal.

For a start I am not always in the shack to observe received signals but this morning I did observe your on/off elements then a decode.
Normally I use my E/W LOOP for EU reception and reports and in this case I do not hear/see N/S ie cannot see or decode ur signal.
I did however switch to the inv L antenna to compare signals and did get a decode on you.
When I get time I will have a look at your QRS3 properly on Speclab

Subject: LF: QRS3-OPERA Challenge

The QRS3 Opera challenge has been running for almost 24 Hours now, continuously, I initially proposed it as a one shot operation.

Last night I asked G3XIZ to read my Phantom QRS3 to ensure that it is readable and at S6 it certainly was.

Many stations have decoded my OPERA during the period. NO ONE except XIZ has reported the QRS3.

OPERA (and by default from previous tests WSPR) has won hands down.

G3KEV has received my signal several times :- 11:11    500 G3ZJO de G3KEV Op4 229 km -27 dB in SCARBOROUGH

.and observed at least once :-
G3ZJO decoded and stopped at 1057 z TRACE visible during transmission. I happened to be in the shack to observe
Please can we keep this practical test on a sensible technical level.
