Hi Alan,

  yes, the PSM-5 unit is the ensemble of the PS-5 Pegel Sender and the PM-5 Pegel Messer.
Note that it is NOT a Selektiver Pegel Messer, just a Level Meter, but not selective.

But, despite the combined weight of about 60 kg.....  it can be useful to measure e.g.
the frequency response of tuned circuits, filters, antenna, etc.

I managed to find the service manual, thank to Giorgio, but not yet the operation manual,
but after a first cursory inspection it looks like it is intuitive in its usage.

This is a picture of the gorgeous boatanchor...  I had to prepare an ad-hoc table for it...  :-)
