Alex - stay safe. found the central city part of Kampala very noisy - luckily for me my base was down the Kasanga Road in Gaba and we had a safety/security  training site down by the lake at their Boy Scouts camping centre. That was a great location with superb trees and just about no AC power (dodgy with Brown and rolling power cuts) - the Blue reared monkeys did damage my antennae though!
