NEW 500 series HI-Q COILS Q over 400, mobile antenna individual coils, one for each band 160 - 10 metres ( These coils are air wound and sealed in a transparent gas tube. DAVIS ELECTRONICS, BURBANK, CALIFORNIA Year 1956 So what is new!!!!!!!!!!! Old Timers will remember these coils but the New amateurs in recent years think they have discovered something, when in fact it has all GONE BEFORE except they dont know that. de G3KEV ----- Original Message ----- From: "Stefan Schäfer" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Friday, September 30, 2011 9:59 PM Subject: Re: LF: Ferrite RX antennas > Hello Jim, > > Maybe liquid helium and a superconductor material? ;-) > > 73, Stefan > > Am 30.09.2011 15:14, schrieb James Moritz: > > Dear Mal, LF Group, > > > > G3KEV wrote: > >> Some commercial produced coils encased in helium tubes had vy high Q > >> that would rival the ferrite variety used today. > > > > Helium tubes?
