Instead of 'birds of...a '   think "Boring Old F..."
 
I well remember a spoof 80m QSO many years ago when someone pirating the call G2BOF deliberatly droned on for hours on end about gardening, wahing the car  and other nonentities....   Probably to make a point about the conversations to be heard on 80m in the middle of the daytime.  Seems even worse these days.

G9BF was the fictitious callsign used by a regular contributor to Short Wave Magazine who satirised poor operating practices.  G9BOF might perhaps be of similar origin (BOF = Birds of a Feather, people who share a common interest).
