Thanks Jay - Specab locked overnight and Im taking a lookinto why. Thanks for the info on ref stations - Ive been taking a look at this for a while and given my filtering (even with 48kHz vis) ND is just too weak on this heading and is pretty well nulled or at least below where I would like it for ref - hence I took the absolutely strongest station I could see,but as you say it may be long term not the right choice....

Its a little after 7am and looking out of my window towards the North I can see a band of light and arcs from an Aurora so Im guessing long haul of goosed for a while.

Cheers

I'm getting a blank page on your VLF grabber ... don't think it's on this end but it might be ...

I've found NPM 21.4 to be 'missing in action' for long periods of time and to a lesser extent NAA 24.0 kHz. I started using NML 25.2 North Dakota as my 'reference of choice' in SpecLab and haven't been disappointed. It does require moving up to a 96 kHz sampling rate, however.

Ive put on long a snapper for VLF @ http://kl7uk.com/VLFAlaska.html  Antennae is a 35T loop beaming N/S over the Pole out in the Birch forest and M0BMU preamp and XSUS sound card - I have some tweaking of the null on the loop to be done but as you can perhaps see RSDN Alpha's is coming thru pretty well. The rx is clocked/locked against Speclab VLF  MSK 200 using NXX on 21.4KHz -
