Hi Richard - long time... Good luck on 500 - its still in use out here in China by a few coast stations, traffic and obs etc. If I were 8000Kms closer and all that!

Surely you should be looking at more than 100km for daylight range, Richard.   See  if you can hear my beacon on 503.7kHz, transmitting every 15 minutes at 04/19/34 and 49 minutes past the hour, using the same format as the RAL/ORK/WES 5MHz beacons, but PSK31 for the 30 - 48 second period.
 
That has an ERP in the region of 23dBm and is rather less potent than most stations on the band.  And  BTW,  I don't do QSOs  - as you may have gathered from postings re 10GHz :-(

Oh dear. No replies. Is 500kHz as quiet as 10GHz (where I also play)? Surely there will be someone within daylight range of me?
