I cut one of these things up today and stripped it and measured all the values. You don't have to break the tube in doing this so its safe.

It only takes about 10 minutes tops to remove and strip everything. Conservatively I reckon there is about £5 of value to the average contructor in there. Not bad for ten minutes work?

Even the cleaned up CCT could be used like Vero at a push.

Well thats my contribution to overcome these straitened times.

Plus the Tube still works and is a very good RF indicator on my 600m antenna!!

For many years I have avoided using the energy saving bulbs under the impression that they were major RF pollutents. I am under increasing pressure to move to using these bulbs.

Are my concerns still the case or are they old fashioned and out of date.
Do you have experience of using these bulbs in the home.
Do modern versions interfer with your Radio receiving , I am interested in signals from 15 kHz to 500 MHz.
Are there specific types or manufactures to be avoided
Any thoughts would be appreciaated
regards
peter
