To help overcome the dreaded fade on 500 khz it might be worth considering space diversity ie use 2 antennas to a combiner and single output to the RX.

I have used this in the past on HF and its interesting often to see the sig fade on one antenna while it peaks on the other, other times they are near enough equal.

Interesting to watch. I must try this sometime with my Vert and Loop.
