Hello LF,
going through todays colour-DF spectrograms, I noticed unusual levels of
Luxembourg cross modulation and directional or polarisation fading.
Traces on the Loran-C monitor show that the transpolar path to Port
Clarence / AK is now open 24 hours. Minami Torishima
(Pacific) was visible throughout the afternoon from 12:00 to
20:00, and the China chains showed up an hour later and are
still there now at 22:20.
Unrelated to that, the DCF39 transmitter apparently experienced
some problems today, with several carrier outages and periods
of powerful broadband noise emissions.
Kind regards
Markus, DF6NM
