I would expect a second sound card to work ok as XP will certainly support 2
cards to run simultaniously if not more. Cards cost so little it's not a lot
to spend if doesn't work. You can of course use the mic input on the
exsisting card but it will require some input attenuation.

I have a HP Pavilion Media Center a1620.fr Desktop PC running XP. I would
like to use it to decode QRSS and other signals. The existing soundcard is
used for dictation (and it doesn't seem to have a line input, only
microphone).
HP tell me that I cannot have two soundcards running at once in this
computer. They say I can have two soundcards installed, but whenever I am
using one, the other must be inactive.
Has anyone any comments, please?
