Hello J. and group,

I haven't used DFCW60 myself yet, which you can tell from the fact that DFCW60 isn't in the "preconfigured settings" in the digimode terminal (though it's possible to send DFCW60 with any audio frequency pair). No experiences here if DFCW30 or DFCW60 would be best suited for the path, but anyway - I will prepare two settings (config files which can be easily loaded into SL) which I will upload later tonight. Since most of use use a "shift" of 2 or 3 Hz for QRSS3, I guess 0.3 to 0.15 Hz would be ok for QRSS30 and QRSS60, respectively. For your divide-by-200 exciter, the shift would be 60 Hz (QRSS30) and 30 Hz (for QRSS60). Anyone please correct me on this if I'm wrong.

Will let you know when the files are uploaded, along with a short description how to start it.

Best regards,
 Wolf .

Hello Wolf,

Thanks for your offer of help!

I can offset the VFO to accommodate most anything within the SSB bandpass, but how is this?
1000 Hz = dit
1020 Hz = dah

I use USB mode setting and then add 1 kHz to the TS450 display reading (27.555.73 - 1 = 27.554.73 display for carrier and dit freq.). I then divide the results by 200 for converting ~27,555.73 kHz to ~0.13777865 kHz, I will have a 0.1 Hz separation between dit and dah.

Is 0.1 Hz. the correct separation?
Is this enough information?

Hello J.,

Which audio center frequency (in Hertz), and which DFCW keying speed do you need ? I could prepare a config file for you to send QRSS through the soundcard, using the serial port to key the transmitter.

The difference between "dits" and "dashes" can be set to anything you like on SL's "digimode" terminal (it's "frequency shift or span" parameter on the digimode config screen).

Cheers,
 Wolf DL4YHF .

Hello again, All,

Spectrum Lab apparently will have a very large learning curve toward success for me. Success means to use the software to key the PTT on the RTS line for DFCW transmissions, and to shift the AF by 40 Hz. up for dah and back down for dit. The 40 Hz. shift is necessary because a divide by 200 is used between the TS450 transceiver which acts as the VFO and the 137 kHz. output which drives the amp.

Is there s quick primer on someone's site which shows how to set up DFCW only?

Thanks,

J.
