I once ran a 14m vertical antenna with no top load and a huge base loading coil. Whilst beaconing I could hear a Morse hissing noise in the garden. Looking closer I found that the volts around the antenna were so great that the leaves and grass were moving whenever the Tx keyed! The antenna was soon dismantled.
