Hi Alan,
I assume this is Ebay item 110018394886 or 110015625846.
Both certainly have a frequency display in the photo - although the
instruments look a bit beaten up.
My D2006s are older than this and my K2155 is younger, so I don't know if
this information is relevant

On the D2006 you have a coarse frequency control and a fine one. You have to
move the coarse control to the next MHz step, you get a faint "clunk" from
inside the instrument, and the "Lock" light illuminates. If the "Lock" light
is not lit the frequency is undefined.
So it might just be a case of moving the coarse frequency control until the
loop locks.
On the K2155 there is a switch to turn off the tracking generator and I
think the frequency display blanks then.

Hi All,
I recently purchased a Siemens D2008 Level Meter (Pegelmesser) on eB*y
with the idea of trying out some VLF experiments. However, despite the
unit showing full health in the photos, it has arrived and now only
displays the decimal point in the freq display.
Before I start any (possibly ugly and protracted) negotiations with the
vendor, is there anyone on this group with some knowledge of this unit?
Specifically:
1. Is there anything I need to do, apart from applying power, to get the
unit into an operational state?
2. Can anyone suggest what it means to have only the DP lit in the
frequency display? Is this a fault condition?
3. Does anyone know where I can get a copy of the operator / service
manual?
Thanks for your help.
Regards,
David Smith
