Dick, Mal, LF,
The 74LS161 is a schottky TTL programmable divider, that will divide by any
number up to 16. There's a 74HCT161 device that does exactly the same thing,
if you prefer CMOS. I've attached a scrap of the circuit showing you how to
wire it up to divide by 12, 13 or 14.
If anyone on the reflector wants a copy of the complete circuit (3579 >
234/137 kHz), let me know and I'll send it direct (750kb Word document)

Thanks for this info Dave.
Of course I have these x-tals; they also been used regulary for 80m fox
hunting TX's.
Biggest problem however, is to divide by 13........
I do not have to much schematics about dividers.
I found another solution, hi
I took an 4.433MHz X-tal and tuned it down to 4406kHz......
That divided by 16 will give me the 275.4kHz I need to drive the rest of the
circuit.
Any schematics/links about how to divide by 13 are welcome.
I'll be on this afternoon 14-15ut on 136.550kHz +/- 50Hz with CW 8wpm beacon
mode.
Maybe, one of these days my signal might show up around 137.7 in QRSS
3......
