For comparison , the SPM30 level meter manages 10Hz per rev, tuning in 1Hz steps and the HP3586C level meter can do 5Hz per rev, tuning in 0.1Hz steps.

Yes, quite right. I managed to find the 1Hz steps but you need a
steady hand as the TS-850 dial on 'Fine' is 1kHz/rev (ie 1Hz steps
are about 0.3 degrees of turn!). For info, the IC-706 has 200Hz/rev
as one of its standard settings.
