Dear LF Group, It appears the Lessay Loran went off at about 0805utc this morning - at the same time, the sidebands that G3YXM saw appeared on the Rugby signal, which has continued normally. They really are there - they can be heard as a slight "hiccup" in the rythm of the Loran pulses occuring about 16 times a minute. On the oscilloscope, the Rugby signal at the moment is 6 pulses, increasing to 8 pulses during the "hiccup". I think this is the "blink" signal which indicates that the particular Loran chain is off-line (see http://www.nels.org/nels/s_006_2.htm ). Cheers, Jim Moritz 73 de M0BMU |
