Welll I was suspicious that recording from a hi 8 digital camcorder an audio
signal not even hard wired to the fr100b would produce poor results from the
car parked near Highway 1 in Southern Mexico using an E probe in the roof
-i However after looking at both in frequency resolution and quality and
running Argo with two screens the results are manifestly "good" (hurrah!!)
as I replay the first of the tapes tonight
One screen is presently looking at dcf39 on 138.83 and giving good results
within 0.03 Hz of nominal and Im seeing clearly just as it was live the
bespoke dcf39 signature. Its at the moment below audible signal but s/n wise
it looks good....
The other is open in the watering hole and is clearly showing XKO on what
was my noizy first night of recording at 2245 PDT 12th from San Jose del
Cabo...its going to be interesting to run the addtional 6 hours of tapes and
see what turns up.
Nice thing about digital recording on tape>>>> The first night was really
noizy with Tstorms to my SE so hoping for better things as we progress.
