Subject: LF: European Tube Question (OT)

I've just acquired a pair of NOS RS1003 tubes by Siemens. Is anyone in Europe familiar with this tube and its application?
A quick search shows them at ~ $230 each...wonder why they are so expensive?

Hello Steve!
I too wonder why these tubes are so expensive.
I do not have any accurate data, but it seems that we are talking about
a 1950-vintage 100-watt transmitting pentode. Can you confirm that it
is a glass envelope, single-ended tube ( thick plate pin)?
For near-eqvivalents, you might look for Amperex PE1/100 or US type 6083.
