I don't know anything about Linux, but there are some Spectrogram / DSP
programs already available for this operating system - for example, on
G3YXM's downloads page ( http://www.wireless.org.uk/software.htm )there is
GLFER and Linrad available for download. Even if you don't want to use their
software, perhaps the authors could help.
