Hi from Iowa!
My son worked in avionics for a few years. A customer bought an
expensive
radio & navigation instrument for his private plane. A few days later he
returned in a rage that while all the functions, VOR, OMNI, etc., operated
perfectly, the set was completely inoperative in the OFF position - this is
true.
Also, quite a few years ago now there was an attempt to start a new
commercial television network here in the states: The Overmeyer Network,"
after its namesake. Some pundits observed that its main advantage was to
have its initials right by the power switch.
