It's easier to imagine work done in hauling out a thin piece of plastic from between two charged plates rather than sucking out some liquid - does the liquid oil stick between the plates like a strong surface tension ? Hugh At a guess, the stored charge doesn't change, so the voltage will. Energy has to be put into the system to move the oil, therefore the stored energy can increase. Am I close? Steve |
