I bought "Commercial" brand fluorescents for the whole house and I didn't
notice any huge LF noise increase. They are not any louder on the natural
Radio receiver either. You guys must have a different ballast scheme or
something different than ours.

I just replaced one of the bulbs in My radio room with a GE lamp
looks like a curled up florescent , Screws into a normal lamp socket
and doesnt appear to make noise. 20 Watts produce 75 watts of lighting
I will know better when the normal background
noise quiets down later but for now it looks OK
