Merry Christmas to all experimenters on LF. Unfortunately I am otherwise engaged at present and cannot participate with the VE1ZZ experiments, but now that he is being heard in EU by several amateurs a two way qso on 136 must be imminent. He has the advantage with a large antenna and good erp. In EU with a good high vertical antenna launching the 1W erp and preferably a good rural QTH or even better a QTH in Ireland, it is possible. Except you are extremely lucky the chance of being heard in VE/W with the average 40 ft vertical or low long wire is nil. These antennas are fine for a few hundred miles around europe but for long haul the big antenna is the secret. 73 de Mal/G3KEV |
