Jack has confirmed he will continue transmitting tonight as usual on
the hours and half hours for 10minutes.
He was best here at 2200z good 'M' almost 'O', at 2300z he was only a 'T'
and I didnt see a trace at 2330z.
I saw VE1ZZ 'M' to 'O' before midnight and transmitted at the times I
said I would.
There were a couple of sessions of a big
signal from Peter, but then his TX has thrown a 'wobbly'....I guess he has
the wrench and blow-lamp out right now....Either that or he has melted the
snow for about three miles around East Preston, and its detuned his aerial.
As far as I am aware the transmitter performed OK. When I went to
receive I did see and hear a very things happening but was unable to
make anything of it. It was a strong signal.
I noticed that the frost an the loading coil plastic rain cover
melted in the region of the windings only. The temperature in the
shack was -3.5 degrees C
Downloaded Argo Beta and ran it from 0001 onward.
I can see a lot more Loran lines than with Spectran. I can also see
VE1ZZ better and although 'O' for only part of the time I can
always tell when he is transmitting - so that I know when to transmit.
Conditions have to be better for a 1w erp QSO.
Jack 'M' here at 0100, but now off to bed
