Dear LF Group,
Many thanks to all those who worked M0BMU/P over the
weekend, or who sent listener reports. Also I am very grateful to all
those who patiently gave comparative signal reports with the "Big
& Small" antenna tests, and so contributed data for the experiment.
My apologies to those who I missed out - I had my hands quite full,
with operating, logging, recording results, and running out to fill the
generator at regular intervals!
I set up and tested the station on Friday night - mostly in the rain,
as seems to be traditional at Puckeridge - and operated during
Saturday and Sunday, finally closing down about 1530 utc on
Sunday. In total I had 25 QSO's, three of these on 73kHz/136kHz
cross-band, the rest on 136kHz. 19 seperate stations in 6
countries were worked:

Best DX contact on both bands was SM6PXJ. Most QSO's were
made at aproximately 90mW ERP level. I also sent beacon signals
for a few hours on Saturday night for field strength measurements,
and during Sunday afternoon, while I started to dismantle the
station.
I now have a considerable amount of experimental results to work
through from the antenna tests, and will post a report on these later
on in the week, after I have dried out and recovered from the
effects of hauling all my LF gear across a field and back again!
Also, I will be sending out some QSL cards soon.
Cheers, Jim Moritz
