Hello Rik and Marco,
as Rick is thinking to write a software for controlling a step
attenuator, I think it would be possible to link that software to a
digital reading of antenna current, so that the attenuator itself
would lead the power constant at +/- 0.5 dB with 1 dB steps
This sounds simpler than building a new transmitter.
This would also mean that a relevant part of Marco's power
(maybe increased to some extent) would be always dissipated in the
attenuator, increasing PA safety in case of antenna detuning,
On the contrary a very accurate PA proctection would be required if
a POSITIVE feedback to the antenna current meter has to be connected
to an unattended TX.
