Dear LF Group,

With all this talk of millihertz resolution, and atomic clock-like stability, I wonder if any particular frequencies or sub-bands have been considered for transatlantic test purposes? After all, the best DSP techniques won't detect a signal if it's on the wrong frequency, or if someone is innocently having a manual CW QSO on top of it!

Another motive for raising this is on the grounds of complexity; like several others, I don't have synthesised equipment, and building fully featured synthesizers in my spare time is definitely a long term goal. But I could come up with pretty good stability equipment with the help of a couple of crystals, if I knew what frequency they should be.

With this in mind, it would be helpful if the Transatlantic II people could let us know of their intentions as soon as possible.

Cheers, Jim Moritz
