Hello Mike

The conclusion is that the Rugby RTTY transmission now has significant white noise sidebands, extending up the band edges (perhaps beyond). This ties in with reports I have had from others. The noise is over 3kHz wide, even with the signal nulled to about S9.

I checked out the sidebands of the growler using spectrogram and they are symetrical about the centre frequency so there is not much point in looking for a place at the top of the band.

Peter will be listening for me tomorrow morning when I will be beaconing between 0700 and 0745UTC.

I will also 'look' for the signal.

I have checked out my transmitting system and it seems to be working as well as it did a year ago. The lack of success with QSOs on this band appears to be due to an increase in noise due to a different 'growler' modulation, which appears digital on the spectrogram.
