Apparently all that's necessary to keep the reflector from cutting off
messages is to make sure periods are only used at the end of a sentence, or
otherwise make sure there are no spaces ahead of them to where they could
accidentally end up at the beginning of a line.
Therefore, I would like to second the request from Dave G3YMC to not use HTML
mail on the reflector. My service provider translates it, but also leaves
file attachments that are a real nuisance too. (In addition, it tempts some
folks to become way too creative graphically, with resultant readability
problems.)
