Jerry, Sounds a great project! I should build 136kHz transverter or cristall controlled transmitter (if sensitivity >of TRCVR is enough for 136). The main problem is PA... There are a few designs around on the net. Mine is at http://www.wireless.org.uk then follow the 136 links. The simple 12V portable rig would easily produce 100W.
