Dear Hans Albrecht, Mal, LF Group, A better alternative to mains transformers, etc., is to use one of the larger sizes of ferrite SMPS core sets. That way, you can design a transformer to produce the

Dear Stefan, LF Group, No, I am not currently transmitting on 9kHz - the amplifier was built some years ago to do some component tests in the VLF/LF/MF range and covers from several kHz to about 2MHz

Dear Mal, do not expect anything from laminated sheet iron cores. Usable frequencxys depends on the thicknes of the Iron sheets, and the conductivity ot the material. Therefore the iron is alloyed wi

Hans Thanks for the info. I have several toroid wound mains transformers and wondered if they would be any use. A couple of persons have mentioned using this type on VLF. I have a number of old LOPT

LF Has anyone measured the efficiency of a mains toroid xformer on 9 Khz. I have some of these which could be useful. ie 230v Prim and 6/12/24 v Sec, rated 10A at 12v de mal/g3kev
