Hi Chris, It should be placed near the motor. But it doesn't matter to much since the motor is running for a few seconds only when doing QSY. Is the system already built up and working? 73, Stefan Am

There's also another issue with having a variometer in the shack, driving a length of transmission line then the loading coil / antenna.   I discovered this by chance, and almost wrecked a 73kHz tran
