May be noise implications with the larger voltage drop of a conventional diode .. a foreword conducting diode is a noise source ... so perhaps a reverse larger derive across the supply would be more

Nope. 1N4001, 1N4007 or any similar plastic 1A diode would do the job. Or you could leave it out if you were confident that you wouldn't connect up the power supply the wrong way round :-) 73, Dave G
