Dear John, LF Group, The line output transformer cores are made of a grade of ferrite similar to that used for switch-mode PSUs, such as 3C85, etc. It performs well at 136kHz although, like all ferri

John, I used one as output transformer for my 136kHz TX (450W out), worked fine. But too lossy on 500kHz. 73, Rik ON7YD - OR7T ________________________________________ Van: owner-rsgb_lf_group@blacks

Hi John LOPTs and scan assemblies can provide useful chunks of LF usable ferrite. You can sometimes find some quite nice high voltage caps around it to which can be useful. Alan G3NYK LF, Analogue te

John, I think yes - you can never have too much ferrite laying around for tests. Keep the scan coil assemblies as well - they are a useful source of copper wire, if nothing else. See Gary G4WGT's pag
