SOT89 looks like it may mount but at 5GHz suspect it needs to be flat against the ground plane ? G. 73, Roelof, pa0rdt The only BFQ19s that I was able to source were SMT. Did you get them in another

Hello John, A Schottky diode was used to minimize the voltage drop. However this is not an important issue. On an other note, instead of the trusty 2N5109 a BFQ19, a modern rf transistor, can be used

LF, I see from the RSGB Handbook that there is a Schottky diode in series with the +12 line. Does it have to be a Schottky device? John F5VLF
