New experiment ongoing tonight :-) Just the 10,25m vertical with one vertical radial about 11m long hanging down A vertical dipole, really No coil, no adaptation. Have used this with the bare U3 and

Hi Luis, My congrats!!! This is a very good result for an unloaded 10m vertical antenna! The coil will make a big difference, a few 10 dB i expect, although this is hard to imagine since your reports

Hi Luis, Be careful with running a mismatched PA. It may not blow up the FETs but maybe a C in the output filter. And the filter will not work very well too. I guess you know how to match the antenna

Hi Stefan Yes. I have already doubled the voltage rate of the output filter. It was the second thing that failed when transmitting with the loop. Output ferrite transformer is also cooled with fan an

Hi Stefan The PA uses one between FET and output filter. Actually the vertical is directly connected to the PA output. No matching transformer and no loading coil. It was a crazy test but works .....

Hi Luis, have you an idea about the Q of this coil? A 11m vertical without a capacitance hat need a coil of about 1.7 mH for resonate at 472 KHz, so a reactance of about 5 Kohm. If you divide the rea

Hi Luis, Nice looking coil. It has a good ratio between diameter and length although it would have been better to have a small gap between the wire turns. And i didn't expect that you need so much L.

Hi Luis, Lol. Yes, maybe an antenna analyzer helps to understand things. For the coil i would use isolated mains electric wire. We have 1.5mm^2 and 2.5mm^2 here in DL. Also there is 0.75mm^2 for some
