My own observations showed that a weak signal seemed to show up better on 426 than 5, although I could well have not learned how to drive the latter. However that was version 5.01. I see from the web

Perhaps I can answer my own question. I have just tried v5.08 on a weak signal that I had recorded. In my opinion it outperforms not just 5.01 but also 4.26. 73 John Taylor G0AKN [email protected]

Let's get a date fixed and allocate frequencies as soon as possible. I will fire up the 1kW amplifier again and, subject to there being no storms, will try out my Stratoscoop 4 kite as aerial lifter.
