Strapping the feeder on the doublet dropped Jim&#8217;s signal by 10dB, just like when I tried TX&#8217;ing using it with a loading coil. The ends slope low and it shields itself. Un strapped at 20:1

At -31dB you are a barely visible trace on the Vertical here. I saw a trace of you at 19:18 which did not de-code, then changed to the 40m doublet which is basically horizontal and produces better DX
