Nice to hear plenty of activity on 136 this week end. In a couple of hours total of casual listening heard DF6NM, DJ8WX, DK7SU, F6BWO, PA0KDM, PA0BWL, G3GRO and worked MB2HFC, G3XDV. My 1100 ft long

Thanks Dave. All reports gratefully received. 9 watts and a sloping piece of wire from shack to tree so definitely not optimum arrangement yet! 73 Tom -- Original Message -- From: daveyxm@googlemail.

Thanks Dave - 10 watts into a 140' sloper with a poor ground. I can't play your recordings - I get the message ' Windows Media Player cannot play the file'. Any clues? G3JFS has also been testing thi
The way I look at it Andy, is that the coax fed dipole is an un-balanced system, so I had two antennas in parallel, each resonant on a slightly different frequency. I bet if I had used twin balanced
Warren I also had a strange effect when strapping a coax fed 80m dipole at ground level for use as a 160m 'TEE'. It appeared to show 2 resonant frequencies a few Khz apart. When I strapped the feeder

Dave Was that you calling 'KEV last evening? Somebody weak and I thought I heard your call-sign (which I could never do on 136!) 73 Tom G3OLB In view of the fact that I seem to be hearing stations ma
Thanks Dave, Rog & Mike, I have a full quarter wave inverted L, 80' vertical and 420' horizontal. Currently beaconing on about 502Kc/s. Any reports gratefully received! 73 Tom G3OLB Tom, Fantastic si
Afraid I agree with Roger - it hardly qualifies as a 'band' anyway! Beacons are useful when the frequency is sparsely populated as it is currently. At evenings/week ends, let's just be aware that the
