Good reception of SAQ this morning. Signal level was quite good but QRN level was unusually high for this time of year - probably due to storms along the US gulf coast. An .mp3 with clips of the tune
Graham I won't be quite a 'charatable' as Mike ... There were at least two false detections on my transmitted signal (WD2XNS) last night that I saw ... one into G and one into SV. About the only way
Graham DF6NM's OPDS is much closer to perfection. I take it you've never used OPDS ... so you're not aware of the differences in performance. Those two spots look good at first glance but they didn't
Graham The shift last night on my transmission was 2 minutes - significantly under the 4 or 5 minutes that has been stated as 'processing time'. With no OPDS reception at DK7FC, DF6NM or anywhere els
Graham So ... with Jose's system the only corroborating evidence is if two stations happen to show a spot at the same time? That's it? 1.5.5 is so prone to false detections this doesn't provide much
More than one detection/decode is then used to certify the spot. Certify the spot? The fact that someone else somewhere received a spot means that your spot certified good? Really? No further corrobo
Graham Perhaps deep search is not appropriate for 'standard HAM kit' then. With DF6NM's OPDS we have the correlation % and dB 'certainty' indicator, an accurate time indicator of the transmission and
Stefan Please consider some good old DFCW again ... sometime. Jay W1VD WD2XNS WE2XGR/2 Hi LF, Today, 7 UTC i will start to run a CW bacon on 136.5 kHz which will run for the whole day. Reports welcom
In checking last night's spots for WD2XNS ... the spot by SP5XSB occured after the WD2XNS transmitter had been off for over two hours. Please disregard that spot. The G3XDV spot appears to be legit .
According to PSK reporter I now have a spot from R7NT as of 1507 UTC ... over 10 hours since the transmitter was last on ... and in broad daylight! Reports generated by PSK reporter do not show ?? ..
Yes, we're all aware that the spots are not checked. The problem is PSK Reporter apparently has no way to present the ?? from an OPdynamic spot. Since the ?? are not there, the ?? spots look exactly
Mike We agree that OPdynamic spots with ?? should not be uploaded ... but that isn't the case at the moment. The R7NT OPdynamic spot of WD2XNS (10 hours after the transmitter was turned off) shows up
Good copy of the SAQ World Radio Day transmision. A short .mp3 with clips of the tune up and message available at : http://www.w1vd.com/SAQ021315.mp3 Equipment setup is as usual: Modified Amrad e pro
